The stage is in the gay quarters of Kyoto. The time is haphazard. Fuhko is a trainee of apprentice Geisha girl， working at the Okiya boarding house. She has established an amiable relation with her fellow worker Hachi who is close to her age. Fuhko is just about to graduate to an apprentice Geisha as Kyouka. Her first patron is a samurai Mutoh who has an X scar on his forehead. She is resigned to surrender herself to him just as a profession， but she somehow finds pleasure in her sexual relation with Mutoh. After the affair， as she is drained and feeling limp， the X on his forehead shines afloat and Kyouka kills Mutoh. On her way home， Kyouka confesses to Hachi to her past and slaughter and decides to turn herself in. In the prison， Kyouka is entangled in an extraordinary turn of destiny... [Bad ending]
